Job Overview

Experienced Carpenters are required for Carters Building Supplies Limited to manufacture prenail product to meet plan and delivery specifications.

Job Description

What you will need:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to read cutting list
  • Timber saws
  • Nailing machine experience
  • Your own tools
  • Reliable transport
  • Reliable to be on time
  • Work within a team
  • Positive attitude and good work ethic
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and reference checks


Duties:

  • Ensure manufactured product meets customer quality expectations
  • Operate saws to cut timber accurately to cutting lists
  • Build trusses and frames manually or use machinery supplied accurately to plans
  • Report damaged or worn equipment to the Team Leader promptly.
  • Provide assistance to other work areas when own work is up to date
  • Ensure material used meets quality and industry standards.
  • To ensure the Company’s information needs are met accurately and timely, and ensuring consistency in approach to managing risk, contributing to a long term viable business
  • To ensure compliance with the Health and Safety in Employment Act, ensuring Carters is not exposed to unnecessary risks or costs associated with non-compliance.
  • Identify and report hazards to the appropriate Manager (as per PDQ) and recommend actions in order to eliminate, isolate or minimise them
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained
  • Deliver on key projects and other organisational priorities as requested
