Prominent Hill is a copper and gold mine located 90 minutes drive from Coober Pedy. Prominent Hill has evolved over the years from an "open pit" style of mine to a full underground mine.
The Underground Mining Contractor is the largest employer on site, with the most scope for development of skills and training opportunities on site.
Anangu Mining is proud to be partnered with all contractors on the Prominent Hill mine site. These partnerships have been developed to build the skills of the AMY indigenous traditional owners as a lasting legacy and career development opportunity for the AMY community.
As an Underground Operator with Anangu Mining you will undergo extensive training in operation of heavy underground mining equipment.
You will work on a dedicated roster, sharing your time between day and night shift. You will work 12 hour shifts and stay in a modern and friendly camp environment.
To be a successful applicant, you will require:
- A Full drivers License ("P" plates may be accepted)
- Ability to pass a Full Pre-Employment Medical and D&A screen
- Willingness to obtain a Current Police Clearance
- A determination to succeed, take direction and work effectively in a close team environment
- Effective communication skills
- A strong appreciation and ability to follow safety policies and procedures
- An ability to work underground
Successful candidates will be able to utilise their skills in minesites and Civil environments in the future.
