Job Description
We are currently seeking experienced forklift drivers with labouring experience to work with our clients in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals looking for a long term opportunity in the food and construction industries. This role involves a strict adherence to safety and acuracy and an active mind when working.
Required Duties:
- Manual handling and picking galvanized steel orders from manifest onto forklift.
- Picking orders from slips.
- High reach duties
- Strapping/Wrapping of Steel.
- Completing paperwork with 100% accuracy when necessary.
- Tying loads of steel for delivery.
- Counterbalance forklift driving.
Team Requirements:
- Be prepared to learn. Call out for additional assistance immediately when a question comes up that you are not highly competent in responding to.
- Be a team player. Work with the team for the good of the whole business.
- Share knowledge to actively help train and support fellow team members
- Abide by communication protocol for all team members.
- Promote a safe working environment
To be successful, you must:
- Have a forklift license/experience (LF essential).
- Ideally have worked with steel and/or timber.
- Be physically fit.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be willing to perform manual labour rather than driving a forklift all day.
- Be available for day and afternoon shifts.
- Have the ability to follow instructions and pick slips with 100% accuracy.
- Have a positive attitude to work with a solid work history.
- Strictly adhere to OHS Policy and Procedure at all times.
- Able to work in a fast paced, loud environment.
- Willing to undertake random Drug and Alcohol test if required.
